"My inner child makes work fun. My inner idealist finds solutions & builds bridges. These sides synergize to add proven value to my employers"

Resume

With more than 15 years experience in product management, I am adept in customer research, product design, UI/UX mockups, and product coordination. My on-the-job experience has gifted me a well-rounded skill set, including first-rate analytical skills and an acute market sense. I particularly excel at: collecting customer and market data to fuel design; work with development, QA and production teams to execute feasible products; coordinate with marketing teams to maximize on product launches; and maintain a product vision throughout its life cycle.

As Vice President and Global Product & Program Manager of Business Intelligence at U.S. Bank, I lead enterprise-wide data and analytics strategies that drive executive decision-making and deliver measurable business value. I oversee the BI data mart and reporting platforms, establishing them as the trusted source of truth across customer, partner, and product dimensions. My team drives adoption across the enterprise by advancing data governance, enabling self-service analytics, and rolling out semantic data models that enhance data accessibility and consistency. We are actively exploring and implementing artificial intelligence capabilities to elevate data analysis, interpretation, and visualization—transforming complex data into valuable, actionable insights. I own the global BI roadmap in close collaboration with Marketing and Data Science teams, with a strong focus on pricing optimization, Customer Lifetime Value modeling, and aligning data strategies with broader Payments Services goals.

Born and raised in Singapore, I was transplanted for college to Atlanta, GA, to study Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I gained invaluable diverse experience in local start-up initiatives as well as NGO projects through fun ethical hacking and brainstorming. My passion allows me keep abreast with the trends and get hands-on-experience with the latest tools and technology stacks.

I also enjoy the occasional hackathon (e.g. AngelHack, StartupWeekend, Hypepotamus) working alongside community technologists to pitch, design and build products that solve problems big and small. I am also an avid enthusiast mentoring young entrepreneurs in the greater Atlanta area participating in incubators including the Atlanta Tech Village (ATV). I was also enrolled in the Y-Combinator Start-up School 2018.

Some of my passion projects that I have continued to work on have included building platform solutions for asset tracking and predictive analytics leveraging BLE tags and wireless IoT sensors. This has included providing solutions for buildings, restaurants, and malls to add a digital experience leveraging beacon technology, and asset tracking of infrastructure and equipment via a rPi gateway. Currently, I have been focusing on adding personalized business needs like Rules Engine, Incident Management and Reporting as continuing to integrate with several tags and sensors adopting LoRa and Sigfox standards.

Testimonials

Gopi is a very skilled Program Manager who helped us set up on agile from scratch. He has a good ability to decouple a value stream and identify the issues. Gopi is a great peer and lead who makes sure everyone stays on track and clears hinderances for his team to achieve everyone’s objectives. Gopi has helped us streamline a lot of processes and made them efficient. Besides project management, Gopi is always keen in learning about technologies and is able to steer the team in the right direction because of his unique perspective.
I wish him the best for all his future roles, and I’m certain that he will do great.

Gopi is one of very rare breed of Product Managers who gives very keen attention to detail. He is a master in utilising the resources allocated to him and has a foresight to see the shape of the product before it is built. I was handling the iOS team at Nuvizz and he shared excellent rapport with all my direct reports. According to them, he was always very receptive to developer’s concerns and was the go-to person whenever there was a roadblock. He is very down to earth & straight forward person who shatters the hierarchy and focuses on getting the things done rather than trying to be politically correct. I have worked with him closely on Workllama and we have had lot of heated brainstorming sessions in which we have taken quite a lot of learnings forward in good spirit!! I recommend Gopi for his strong work ethics, highly competent product management skills and clairvoyance in shaping the long term product vision. I wish him success for all his future endeavours.
— Gokul Sengottuvelu, Technical Product Marketing Manager | ServiceNow
One of the enduring images I have of Gopi was when he was caught in a very hard situation between competing business units and their needs and the user experience requirements. He had a big wide smile the whole time trying to come to the best possible solution for all parties. He was an excellent collaborative partner with a full understanding of the online landscape. I’m very glad to have worked alongside him at one of the best online retail shops in the world.
— Christopher Brown, UX Design Manager, WW Amazon Prime
I worked directly with Gopi on multiple projects at AirWatch. He always acted as the voice of the team and provided cover so members could focus on their tasks. As a product manager, he focuses on the team as a whole - balancing workloads, encouraging feedback from developers, and heralding accomplishments from every team member. He is a major force in holding up the team’s morale. On many occasions I have seen Gopi make hard tradeoffs, that have been proved to have been for the better of the product.
— JJ Manton, VP of Engineering, Airia - Enterprise AI Simplified
I had the opportunity to work with Gopi while working on the Secure Content Locker Solutions for Airwatch for a couple of mobile OS Platforms. I was highly impressed by Gopi’s attention to the product development cycle and the way he managed the development while also taking care of requirements that came in from business. He always found a way to get the right balance from the business as well as development side in how the product should be developed. He managed deadlines and developers with ease and ensured that all the stakeholders in the product were happy with the shape the product took. I would definitely recommend him as a Product Manager with keen sense of timing, expectation management and attention to interpersonal relations.
— Udbhav Bhatnagar, Staff Software Engineer (Operating Systems) at Apple
I had the pleasure to work with Gopi during the DP-360 product development. Gopi was in charge of developing and maintaining regression software platform to enable automatic testing of DP-360. Gopi did an exceptional job to improve continuously Labview regression software. This regression software is a fairly complex tool that controls remotely CMTS, Cable Modems, DP-360s and goes through testcases and outputs a summary report of pass/fail status for each testcases.

Gopi did an excellent job to extend this DP-360 regression software to include production line testing. This enabled faster verification of DP-360 on the production line as multiple DUTs could be tested in parallel. Gopi was also always ready to help customer with questions on DP-360 or other products at Averna. Gopi is a talented engineer with a solid software background; I would not hesitate to work with him again.
